Get paid to audit sites, on your schedule
XFactor Audit is building a vetted bench of independent contract auditors. Per-audit assignments, photo-evidenced reports you can hand off as-is, and specialty certifications that open doors to higher-rate work. The network is built for people who take field work seriously.
1099 contract roles · per-audit pay · coverage-mapped assignments
Field people who treat audits as a profession
Reliable field auditors are the hard constraint in this industry. We are building the bench deliberately, around three profiles:
- Side-hustle auditors: property inspectors, former ops managers and field service pros taking paid audit blocks on their own schedule
- Semi-retained field contractors: people already working in real estate, hospitality, food service or facilities who want recurring, structured assignments
- Small audit firms: two- to ten-person inspection shops that want overflow work and standardized deliverables
Every assignment is photographed, time-stamped and scored to a written standard — so your work product holds up in front of a franchise development committee, a district manager or an asset owner.
Vetting standard
The sample audit is the gate. Everything else in the network — rates, access, assignment complexity — moves with your quality scores.
Vetted in, trained up, quality-checked, paid per audit
Four systems behind every assignment — so the report you send is the report the client trusts.
Vetting
ID verification, optional background check, and coverage-area mapping so assignments match where you actually work. Before activation, you submit a sample audit that we score against the same standard used on client work.
Role-based training
Training packs are sold and certified by job type. A fuel-forecourt auditor, a QSR auditor and a multifamily auditor carry different certifications, at different rates, for different assignments. Certify for the work you want.
Quality control
Every outsourced audit is photo-evidenced and time-stamped. Internal QA scoring and re-audits spot-check work. Low performers get restricted to lower-complexity jobs or removed from the network.
Payment structure
Per-audit pricing, or per-module rates where the engagement is broken down that way. Premiums apply for specialized audits: drive time, photo counts and turnaround SLAs.
Certification levels that move with quality
Rates and access gates move with your quality scores. Start certified, add specialties, and graduate to firm-level partnerships.
General site audits
Per audit after sample gate
One certification, one job type. Standard checklists, photo evidence, and the report format the client expects. Assignment volume builds as your scores hold steady.
Category-certified work
Per module with premiums
Fuel forecourt, QSR, multifamily and retail-category certifications unlock higher-rate modules. Drive-time, photo-count and turnaround-SLA premiums apply on top.
Overflow and multi-market work
Contract rates for shops
Two- to ten-person inspection shops take overflow assignments under our report standard, with QA oversight and recurring multi-market agreements.
Exact rates and deadlines are set per engagement and shared before you accept an assignment. Nothing gets scheduled without a clear scope of work.
Clear scopes, clean paperwork
Auditor assignments are 1099 contract roles, and we run them like a professional contracting operation so you get paid without surprises:
- Scope of work, written: every assignment states the site count, drive territory, required evidence, photo counts and turnaround deadline before you accept
- Background-check opt-in: where a client requires it, you choose which markets you are willing to be cleared for, instead of blanket screening
- Conflict-of-interest workflow: declared conflicts checked against the account before routing — auditors never get assigned to a site they have a stake in
- Stable cadence: recurring assignments go to auditors with clean QA records in that market
What we keep fixed, what moves
The report standard, photo rules and QA process never change mid-assignment. Rates vary by engagement type and get confirmed in writing per scope. You decide which categories you certify for and which markets you drive to.
If a client job needs a background check, a bonded badge or a specialty license, the scope flags it and the rate reflects it. If it does not fit, you pass.

Before you apply
Are these jobs or contract assignments?
Contract assignments. Auditor roles are 1099 independent-contractor work: you accept scoped audits in your markets, set your own availability, and get paid per assignment against a written scope of work.
Is a background check required?
Only where the client requires it. You opt in to screening for the markets and accounts you want to clear for, instead of blanket screening. Those scopes pay a premium and get flagged in advance.
What if I conflict with a client?
Everyone in the network completes a conflict-of-interest declaration: no owning or working for the brand, no managing the property, no personal relationship with the site team. Conflicts get checked before an assignment is routed to you.
What does the sample audit look like?
You complete one audit to our standard: photo evidence on every item, time stamps, condition scoring and a written summary. It gets scored against the same rubric used on paid client work. This is the gate.
What if my sample audit does not pass?
You get the score sheet and retrain, then resubmit. A failed sample does not close the door; it points at the specific gaps in evidence and scoring before we let client-facing work start.
How are audits paid?
Per audit or per module, depending on the engagement. Drive time, photo counts and turnaround deadlines carry premiums when a scope needs them. Rates are confirmed in writing before you accept.
What equipment do I need?
A phone with a camera and reliable transport to your mapped markets. Photo capture, time stamps and the report workflow run on the XFactor Audit mobile flow — no special hardware.
How much time does an audit take?
Most site audits are a single visit plus the report write-up, and the scope states both. Routine checklists run shorter; annual deep audits and mystery shops run longer and pay higher.
How soon will an assignment be scheduled?
Customer timelines are the schedule. Template-based real estate work dispatchs in as little as 24 hours, while custom and restricted-access work lands on a calendar the client sets — sometimes spread across a few months. Premium rush rates always show in the quote before you accept.
